Men are welcome to drop their pants in my shop / What's on the bench

The Future Of Bam Bam Holsters (Levy, Bam Bam's Grandbaby)

It happens all the time, so I might as well invite it. To men, it just comes natural, we undo our britches to try on a holster. I don't know if you ladies do that or not but gundudes just seem comfortable with it.

This was left with me after customer picked up his onmi
Just from my personal observation, the most popular holster to day is the hybrid holster.  It is just what every one uses, so it is what everyone else uses, because "everyone is using it". Its cheaper to produce since the plastic costs less than leather. It cheaper because production of time is way less. It is claimed to be better because it is a faster draw or slicker coming out of the holsters. I am not sure that a slicker draw is what was intended with a holster? I think the reason for the popularity is that when we buy our first gun, we are not sure about spending a lot of money on gun stuff. In our lack of understanding, we buy the cheapest thing possible for our first new gun. And it works! As far as we know? But we don't know, because we have no experience when we first start out.
When men have dropped there bitches in my shop it is by invitation to try on a holster. I invite them to try on different styles of holsters. The leather always wins! If I lend a few to try for a couple of days, most have been drawn to my single clip Omni. One reason is because it takes up less real estate on the belt. Another reason I have seen many times as they undo their britches over and over. "Well, I never thought about it, but it could go here as well". AND with one holster they get to experiment with so many carry positions. I have always encourages new shooters to not get locked into one idea of how to carry. Be "open" enough to realize there is more than one way.

A Genuine Compliment / What's On The Bench

One of the best compliments I have received was a person that bought a holster off of ebay. This person was a grandfather of five just to give a hint at his age. He said that he had carried a gun since he was 17 years of age. Mostly in some form of law enforcement or similar employment that require wearing a gun. He said the holster he bought was the best he had ever had.

People are very ready to give a compliment about the holsters and while they are always appreciated, I find the more genuine compliment in other ways.

It is when a person that has bought a holster comes back for another. Let me explain. There is a sensation that comes with buying something new. Upon buying said item, it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. In my opinion, it takes a little time and experience to fully evaluate what you have just purchased. Sometimes a little time passes and you begin to notice things about this once "greatest thing since sliced bread" item. To me a a genuine compliment is seeing people that have bought a holster come back for another. I find no higher compliment actually. There return means that after wearing the holster for a period of time they have found it worthy of a repeated purchase for another gun or the same gun in another purpose. Now I am not saying that verbal compliments means nothing but if you really want to compliment then buy another holster (could not help it sorry, the last sentence was a shameless marketing plug).

 FINISHED UP

Glock 19 skinny
Twinkie to the Glock 19 Skinny

CZ 75b Omni Lefty ........Black..... certain thing to me are an accomplishment. This is the first omni for this gun which means a freshly drawn pattern (the hardest part). Spot on perfect. This fit is just what I look for.

A pair for a customer. Glock 19 omni dyed a little different. Very happy with it.
AND a M&P sheild Skinny to match.

A little story. I mailed this customer the wrong holster. To make it right I told him to keep the Glock 42 holster and give it to some one. I re-made the Sheild holster with a couple of upgrades and personalized it. And he ordered the Glock 19 holster and I gave the upgrades for free and paid shipping. Stupid mistakes can happen (that one won't again).  I simply do my best to make up for the mistake.

 In the works

The magazine development is progressing but, hindered by orders

Hopefully this will turn into a horizontal Glock 42 covered mag pouch.

Omni for shield

Skinny for a glock 42

Avenger with inlay for a shield

The chaotic mess, where all this happens. We are getting closer to out moving date. Jan 29. The best part of the move is 5 acres and dedicated shop which will be the new home of Bam Bam Holsters.

What goals do you have for next year? / What's on the bench

With out being to cliche with the question and answers, I think it is a great idea to have goals and a plan to attain them. People don't plan to fail, they fail to plan. So what are your gun related goals? Obviously I think each person reading this should have the goal of having no less than 2 BamBam holsters for every handgun, but not everyone will strive for that goal.

I always have some personal goals as I enter the new year. I have some goals set for my holster business and a plan to hopefully attain that goal. I have a couple of different model holsters that I am going to get in the holster line up as well as gun belts and mag carriers and gun Christmas ornaments for next year.

This past year it seemed like everything conflicted with competitive shooting. I plant to increase at least one classification and go to at least one USPSA match. I also have some plans for personal training in regards to self defense. Going to include some night shooting and some long gun practice as well.

I like to have goals that I know I can reach. Not things that will just come without trying but things that with some concentrated effort, can be accomplished. What are yours?

The absolute best gift for a gun guy / What's on the bench

While you would expect a marketing tactic here to get you you to buy a Bam Bam Holster (not to say that you shouldn't), lets take a break from the marketing that we all so tire of during the Christmas season.

The absolute best gift that can be given to a gun guy is already wrapped and ready.
  • Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

The absolute best gift that can be given to a gun guy arrived a long time ago.
  • Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
The absolute best gift that a gun guy can be given is waiting to be opened.
  • John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
While "gun guys" are notorious for searching for, and purchasing the latest and greatest in a desire to have what they need............the latest and greatest has been available through out the course of history and there is no substitute, nor other that will bring complete satisfaction and fulfillment to the gun guys life.
