What goals do you have for next year? / What's on the bench

With out being to cliche with the question and answers, I think it is a great idea to have goals and a plan to attain them. People don't plan to fail, they fail to plan. So what are your gun related goals? Obviously I think each person reading this should have the goal of having no less than 2 BamBam holsters for every handgun, but not everyone will strive for that goal.

I always have some personal goals as I enter the new year. I have some goals set for my holster business and a plan to hopefully attain that goal. I have a couple of different model holsters that I am going to get in the holster line up as well as gun belts and mag carriers and gun Christmas ornaments for next year.

This past year it seemed like everything conflicted with competitive shooting. I plant to increase at least one classification and go to at least one USPSA match. I also have some plans for personal training in regards to self defense. Going to include some night shooting and some long gun practice as well.

I like to have goals that I know I can reach. Not things that will just come without trying but things that with some concentrated effort, can be accomplished. What are yours?

 The wife walked in and said, "thats pretty, who is that for?". I told her I was actually making it for myself. Have been wanting to make this for a while. Its a regular omni with a single leather belt loop/ Prototype of a model I want to make. Been wearing it several days now and so far I really like it.

and been working on several mag carriers  designs. Will have more on that next week.

The absolute best gift for a gun guy / What's on the bench

While you would expect a marketing tactic here to get you you to buy a Bam Bam Holster (not to say that you shouldn't), lets take a break from the marketing that we all so tire of during the Christmas season.

The absolute best gift that can be given to a gun guy is already wrapped and ready.

 The absolute best gift that can be given to a gun guy arrived a long time ago.

While "gun guys" are notorious for searching for, and purchasing the latest and greatest in a desire to have what they need............the latest and greatest has been available through out the course of history and there is no substitute, nor other that will bring complete satisfaction and fulfillment to the gun guys life.

One of my favorite podcasts is the "The Handgun WorldPodcast" by Bob Mayne. He always uses the phrase "the reason that I carry a gun is because I can't carry a cop". Just another way of saying that everyone needs a WING MAN.

I have no idea of the origin of the design and have seen many variations of it. The "Wing Man" is an all leather, non tuck able,  inside the waistband holster. I meet very few people that actually tuck the shirt in on all these tuck able holsters. I personally carry under a t-shirt or camping style shirt.

• The leather clips can be locked down tight so that there is no movement when worn. 
• It has the sweat guard which keeps the gun off of your skin. 
• The holster remains open for safe one handed re-holstering.
• This holster is best suited for those that carry the gun on the hip at 3 o'clock to 5 o'clock position. 
• As with all my holsters, the gun has to be shaken out (or slowly falls out) when held upside down but the draw does not feel like it is coming out of a vice.

This thing is like a building a jig saw puzzle in all the pieces and how they go together. But, once it all together you wind up with a really impressive holster.

Holds snug to the body

I claim no originality to this name or design. Its inception was the Bruce Nelson design

The Avenger is simply a good design for outside the waistband carry.  It holds the gun snug to the body and under a camping shirt or jacket it is very easy to conceal.  

 I prefer the avenger over a pancake style holster, I just think it works better. Just my preference, everyone has there own.

  

  

 

 

I find that there is a  time for both IWB and OWB carry. Basically OWB is a lot more convenient when I am wearing something more than a t-shirt, and especially in the winter. 

 

My 1911 Avenger for IDPA

My first avengers were a cut out design that was more forIDPA.  For the past several months I have actually been shooting my carry gear, which is this OWB avenger holster. I lose a little advantage with the every day carry gear, but I am alright with that. It gives me practice with the most important gear anyways.
